Bravery in Fashion

by | Mar 1, 2021 | Fashion

I know first hand the feeling of chickening out on an amazing outfit. Trust me. That feeling in the morning where you are too nervous to wear the outfit because of what people will think, but want to wear it because you love it so much. If you can believe it, just 2 years ago, all I would wear were simple pattern leggings and graphic tee shirts. I would set out an outfit that consisted of a hot pink jacket and fun platform sandals but would decide that it was too fancy and everyone would point that out. Now I am wearing the most extravagant of outfits for lounging around the house, and if you’re wondering how I got here….

There isn’t much to do in terms of finding your style, I’m still changing the type of clothes I wear constantly. Finding your style is not a part of feeling brave in your outfits, it can be, but you don’t have to have your specific style picked out to rock a look. Somedays I’m wearing leather jackets and black ripped jeans, others I’m wearing flowy skirts and floral tops. However, like what your wearing, and you will feel as brave as ever. Don’t choose an outfit that you’re only wearing because it’s what other people are, wear what you like deep down. Whether that is the craziest of outfits, or the most simple. You have to like it, to feel good in it.

Being underdressed or overdressed is the biggest problem when it comes to overthinking an outfit for me. I’m either worried that I will stick out for being way over the top at a casual place, or way underdressed at a fancy place. Most of the time what it comes down to is whether or not I feel like I can do the activity in the outfit I’m wearing. However, it can be a pain in the butt, when you end up being too fancy or too casual. I’m usually not too worried about being overdressed as I am underdressed. I usually deal with this by contacting someone I know who is going to that event to see what they are wearing. But, if you’re overdressed and you are fine with it, then you go girl, rock that outfit!

I have felt out of place sometimes with my extravagant jewelry or shoes, but most of the time what keeps me feeling good is that I’m happy with my look and proud of it. Sometimes people will compliment you on your bold and stylish look, while other times people will give you a strange look. But what matters is that you are happy in what your wearing and feel proud of yourself, and that is what shows others that you are confident.

How Social Media Has Impacted Fashion Trends

How Social Media Has Impacted Fashion Trends

Every decade had its main fashion trends that stayed for the full 10 years, we all know 70’s hippy, 80’s neon, 90’s grunge, and y2k futuristic with a retro edge, but what about the 2010s. 2010 to 2012 was still y2k style, 2013 to 2016 was all boy bands, and then 2017 to 2019 were all repeats of the ’70s, ’80s, and ’90s. It was all over the place, and so far 2021 hasn’t been any different, starting with y2k fashion, then the 90’s, and finally its own style with hints of both the 90s and ’00s.

Let Idiots Burn In Hell

Let Idiots Burn In Hell

When you are expressing yourself through fashion, people will comment on your outfit. And maybe you will take their opinions and think them through, cry, or just ignore them like the badass you are. Peoples opinions are like flies, buzzing around you and constantly annoying. On rare occasion, they will be helpful, but on the more realistic side, they are the most frustrating thing that can occur when it comes to fashion. Whether it is simple, “Your outfit is very bold,” with hints of disgust. Or the straight up, “What are you wearing?” The one sentence that can send you over the edge.
